10 Animated Shorts Advance in 2018 Oscar race

Forget Christmas, it’s Oscars season – the most wonderful time of the year! Earlier today the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the ten animated shorts (out of sixty three qualifying films) that now go forward for consideration of an 90th Academy Awards® nomination. From this shortlist five nominees will be selected by branch members in January after screenings in L.A, London, New York and San Francisco. The final nominations will be announced on January 23rd 2018 and the winner will be revealed March 4th.

The Shortlist is as follows.

Nominations for the 90th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 23rd 2018. The 90th Academy Award Ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 4th 2018, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Centre in Hollywood.
