100,000 learners have signed up for the portfolio of free online courses commissioned by Creative Skillset, developed in collaboration with some of the leading players in the Creative Industries and world leading Universities.

Creative practitioners can join the D&AD Brand Storytelling course, on FutureLearn, running NOW, or sign up for upcoming courses onanimation, photography, sustainable fashion, feature filmmaking, visual effects and screenwriting. Visit the Creative Skillset partner page on FutureLearn to join a course either running now or starting soon.

Creative Skillset has invested £ 200,000  into the creation of massive open online courses (MOOCs). This investment was in response to industry calls for innovative solutions to provide affordable training options for freelancers working in the UK Creative Industries.

The courses have been developed in partnership with industry stalwarts, D&AD, the Ethical Fashion Forum and the Production Guild of Great Britain, as well as leading UK universities: the University of East Anglia, Norwich University of the Arts and the National Film and Television School.

Seetha Kumar, CEO of Creative Skillset says: “We are all learning from the take up and completion  on MOOC’s. This is our first venture into free online learning. We have had a high level of registration and it’s great to see that these creative courses are proving so popular.”

Other courses commissioned by Creative Skillset include Age of Algorithms from London Geometry, a ballistics-based maths game for professionals in the games industry, and Collabology, an experimental course on digital collaboration run by Professor Fred Deakin at the University of the Arts London.
