2014 BAFTA Nominations Announced

// News

The full list of 2014 BAFTA nominees were revealed this morning, with the winners in each category to be announced Sunday 16th February.

With no real surprises in the animated feature film category – Disney’s Frozen, Pixar’s Monsters University and Universal’s Despicable Me 2 up against one another – being more spoiled for choice the short film selections are more adventurous. The final three films to be selected are Ainslie Henderson‘s Scottish BAFTA-winning I Am Tom Moody, Yousif Al Khalifa‘s Sleeping With The Fishes (both student films, from the Edinburgh College of Art and the NFTS respectively) and The Line‘s 9:16 online hit Everything I Can See From Here, directed by Sam Taylor and Bjorn Aschim.

Outside of the main animation realm were VFX nominations for Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim, The Hobbit and Star Trek Into Darkness, alongside the pre-vis heavy Gravity which has accrued eleven nominations in total.

The award ceremony will be held at London’s Royal Opera House and hosted by Stephen Fry. For more information visit bafta.org
