2016 Oscar® nominations announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have today announced their nominations for the 88th Academy Awards®! As regards animation, the selected projects have been whittled down from sixteen shortlisted feature films and ten animated shorts. Announced by directors Guillermo del Toro and Ang Lee, the nominations for Animated Feature are as follows:

Anomalisa (Dir. Charlie Kaufman/Duke Johnson)

Boy and the World (Dir. Alê Abreu)

Inside Out (Dir. Pete Docter/Ronnie del Carmen)

Shaun the Sheep: The Movie (Dir. Mark Burton/Richard Starzak)

When Marnie Was There (Dir. Hiromasa Yonebayashi)

Also nominated for Best Documentary was the animated documentary Last Day of Freedom (Dir. Dee Hibbert-Jones/Nomi Talisman):
