3D Wire has a unique view where animation, video games and new media is a single industry sector in synergy. It understands that these sectors develop together and grow with new participants. Projects are no longer merely animation or just a game, but a truly transmedia product. It deals with new trends in digital content, technology, production and funding every year.

That’s the main basis of 3D Wire, International Animation, Video Games and New Media Market which is celebrated in Segovia, Spain, since 10 years ago.

3D Wire is focus on the professionals and their needs. B2B coproduction meetings is one big part of its programme together with conferences, round tables, screening booths, stands area and networking activities. 3D Wire is one of the first events of its class worldwide, not only due to the mix of the three sectors but also because it is fully gamified. Professionals have the opportunity to get to know the other attendees easily and in a funny way. Thanks to the gamification there is a really friendly atmosphere.

Speakers from 16 countries will give masterclass and conferences during the big days of 3D Wire, October 5th & 6th.

The list of confirmed attendants continues to grow with names like Carlos Baena, Spanish filmmaker and animator based in Los Angeles and who has worked on Pixar in films like Finding Nemo, Incredibles or Toy Story 3. Baena will talk about one of his projects, the virtual platform “Artella”; where creators, directors and artists from around the world can work together to create stories, short films, video games and VR projects. A system that is revolutionizing the way of making animation.

David Alric, another of the last confirmed guests, is the co-founder and producer of Bobbypills, a French adult animation studio which produces 3 to 4 animation series a year with total freedom of tone. For its first year, the studio produced “Vermin”, “Peepoodo & the Super Fuck Friends” and “Crisis Jung ». 3 incredible shows that will blow your mind. The company federates the most talented adult animation creators in France (of “The Kassos”, “Lastman” or “Mr. Flap ») and broadcasts its series exclusively on Blackpills, in the USA, Europe and soon in Latin America and Asia.

These two professionals join an exceptional cast where name of producers such as Vincent Tavier, Nicolas Schmerkin and Edwina Liard appear, that will talk about their experiences “Ready, steady, The Oscars”. They will tackle the question of how they faced the promotion campaigns of their respective works: the nominees Ernest & Celestine and Negative Space and the Oscar winner Logorama, in the cinema mecca.

An exceptional cast where also is, for example, Mariano Melman-Carrara, an Argentine living in London who will give the conference ‘Production applied to VR, case study of Back to the Moon’, or Eva Figueroa and Juan Pedro Arroyo, 2D animation supervisors for four years in the series ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’ by Cartoon Network in London who will speak about working with mixed techniques in an audiovisual product of these characteristics.

On the other hand, the Blacksad video game based on the comic winner of Three Eisner Awards, a Harvey Prize, an Angoulême Prize and the National Comic Award in 2014, will be presented for the first time worldwide. Its senior character designer will explain the process of creating one of the characters from concept to rigging.

Furthermore, the Hollander André Bergs will speak on comic, video game engine and animation, all together to create a new and impressive experience. He seeks to extend the limits of visual storytelling, giving the user control of the angle from which they can look at each vignette and add animated elements to enrich the reader’s interactive experience. His two digital comic books ‘Protanopia’ and ‘RRR 1’ will be presented.

Apart from all these conferences 15 projects from among the 126 received at the call for projects will be presented by their authors and 10 projects will receive consultation meetings by international professionals such as Risa Cohen from European Film Bonds, Bianca Rodríguez from Cake Entertainment or William Turner from Átomo Network.
