Aardman Digital today announces the launch of an exciting new online game to accompany CBBC’s new Hero Squad series, which sees six children working with and learning from the most demanding and important teams in the UK – the emergency and rescue services!

The show, which launched on Monday at 6:15pm and screened weekly, is hosted by former Metropolitan Police officer and Cop School presenter, Rav Wilding who will guide the wannabe heroes as they are dispatched on their rescue adventures.

In order to enrich fan’s experience of the groundbreaking new show, Aardman Digital have created the fantastically addictive Hero Squad: Rapid Response, a fast and furious driving game which focusses on three services in particular;  Sea Rescue, Fire Rescue and Air Rescue.  The game, created for the CBBC website, will provide fans with the opportunity to continue getting their Hero Squad fix in-between episodes and practice their skills as rescue recruits.

Nikki Stearman, CBBC Interactive says, “We are very happy with Hero Squad: Rapid Response. It’s an exciting game with high production values and our audience are really enjoying playing it!”

Hero Squad: Rapid Response is a top-down arcade game that places the player in control of three classes of emergency vehicle as they prove their prowess as members the rescue services. The game is divided into a series of missions – six per emergency service – and within each mission the wannabe hero must respond to various emergencies based on the real activities of the services, reaching them as fast as possible to maximise their score.

The game is viewed from above, as if from a high-altitude surveillance aircraft and the game camera follows the players’ vehicle as they drive or fly around the map, with the orientation of the camera locked to aid navigation. For this game the Digital team at Aardman have seamlessly integrated original interactive and CGI elements with music from the show taking children on an exhilarating adventure into the world of emergency rescue!

The game can be played by visiting the CBBC site
