// Featured, News

Google Spotlight Stories have released the first look at its latest immersive animation project Age of Sail, which sees its World Premiere at Venice Virtual Reality at the Venice Film Festival this week. Billed as the series’ “longest, most visually complex experience to date”, the film was produced with Chromosphere by Gennie Rim (Duet, Dear Basketball) and David Eisenmann (Pearl, Son of Jaguar), executive produced by Karen Dufilho and Jan Pinkava with director John Kahrs (Disney’s Paperman) at the helm.

Boasting production design by Celine Desrumaux and technical supervision by Cassidy Curtis, Age of Sail stars Ian McShane as adrift sailor William Avery, whose solitude is disrupted when is compelled to rescue a young woman (Cathy Ang) who has mysteriously fallen overboard.

Following its world premiere the film will celebrate its North American Premiere as part of the LA Film Festival’s VR & Immersive Storytelling Showcase: The Portal, taking place at the new Loyola Marymount Playa Vista campus from September 22nd-23rd.
