Big Hero Six – New Trailer

// News

Disney have taken a new leap into the superhero genre and by the looks of the new Big Hero Six trailer, they have touched down with style. Released yesterday the new teaser reveals a lot more than we’ve already been treated to. Based around an uber smart kid, Hiro and his hapless robot friend Baymax, it looks as though they are destined to fight the old time battle of good versus evil in the futuristic city of San Fransokyo. Taken from a Marvel story of the same name it’s the first time Disney have used their newly acquired brand license in an animated feature.

The trailer offers us glimpses of some stunning locations, some intriguing supporting characters and what looks to be an overarching villain, controlling microbots with his mind,. It’s looking like a an uphill struggle for Hiro to prove to ‘joe public’ that this kind of power is a reality, with the cop, and rightly so, finding it all a bit far fetched. Overall this looks like it could be a big change stylistically at Disney. The worlds look a lot more adult and the characters, especially that of Hiro look a lot less rounded and cute in a way we’ve come to expect. The dialogue also seems a lot more adult which will be a seemingly fresh approach and take it back to a time when Disney films didn’t talk down to kids and created films for family viewing, for everyone. With a story that seems jam-packed with thrills and spills taking in lots of new directions, it should certainly be one to keep your peepers peeled for.

Big Hero Six is looking at a release date of 30th January 2015 in the UK.
