Cartoon d’Or No More

// News

The Cartoon D’or, the pan-european award for European animated short film that has been presented at Cartoon Forum since 1991 has ended.

The award has been a good marker for European talent, with Nick Park, Sylvain Chomet, Michael Dudok de Wit, Joanna Quinn and David O’Reilly being amongst the winners. The UK has won the award 11 times since 1991.

It was announced by EAA board member Jean-Paul Commin that the legacy of the award will continue as the European Animation Awards will present a similar award at the upcoming ceremony which has its inaugural event on the 8th December in Lille France.
