CBeebies Commission New Animated TV Series ‘Tree Fu Tom’

CBeebies have commissioned a new action adventure series in collaboration with FreemantleMedia Enterprises and animated by Blue-Zoo.

‘Tree Fu Tom’ is an adventure series set in a magical wood. Tom embarks on a series of adventures in Treetopolis with the help of his magical belt.

The series is designed to help children develop their motor abilities through imitating the eight year old Tom casting his spells. Tom encourages children to interact with him while he uses his magical Tree Fu abilities to escape disaster and save the day.

Through using a series of simple movements, Tom and his audience at home create Big World Magic. Alongside his trusty sidekick, Twigs, Tom will regularly be called upon to save is friends and companions and save the world from disaster.

The 26 x 22 minutes series was commissioned by Kay Benbow, controller at CBeebies In House Productions. She explains a bit more about the project: ‘Tree Fun Tom’ is an incredibly exciting new project. The physical actions have all been devised and approved by movement development specialists and are designed to help all children – but particularly those with Dyspraxia.” She hopes that by following the adventures of ‘Tree Fu Tom’ on a regular basis and practising the simple movements it will be possible to “actively assist in the development of all children.”

Alison Stewart, head of production at Cbeebies commented that she was “thrilled” to be involved in ‘Tree Fu Tom’ and collaborating with FME. She adds that “with its themes of magic, adventure and friendship, a host of engaging characters and plenty of humour, ‘Tree Fu Tom’ will become a favourite with our young viewers.”

Speaking on behalf of FME, Bob Higgins, SVP of children and family entertainment said “we are tremendously proud of our involvement with this exciting new show and can’t wait to introduce Tom to the UK and the world.” He is particularly proud of the audience interaction, which will not only help children develop, but he expects www.health-canada-pharmacy.com will “promote exercise and good health.”

‘Tree Fu Tom’ was created and is being produced by Daniel Bays. The show will be animated by Blue-Zoo, an independent animation studio based in London. It is going into later this year and should hit the screen by 2012.
