Leading animation company Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick Entertainment has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Sir Eric Peacock  as chairman.

The announcement comes shortly after Sir David Jason, the voice of Danger Mouse in the 1980s, announced he would be joining the board as a non-executive director.

Sir Eric has over 40 years’ experience working with businesses in the consumer and industrial sectors and a proven track record of increasing shareholder value and influencing diverse management teams.

He will work with the team at CHF to accelerate the firm’s growth internationally and exploit merchandising and licensing opportunities in overseas markets.

Sir Eric currently sits on the board of a number of companies including Buckley Jewellery, which supplies products to more than 120 countries; Halo International, which is a global manufacturer of premium furniture products; and Stage Technologies, a provider of stage engineering to world-class entertainment venues in places such as New York and London.

He said: “It is an absolute joy to be joining the board at CHF. The company has been at the forefront of the animation industry for a long time and continues to show amazing levels of innovation and creativity in a world that is becoming increasingly globally connected.

“I am confident that we can work together to achieve our growth aspirations and capitalise on merchandise opportunities both in the UK and overseas, so it’s a very exciting time for us.”

Adrian Wilkins, chief executive at CHF Entertainment, said: “We are delighted to have Sir Eric Peacock on board. He will add tremendous value to the group in terms of business knowledge and experience. He has led a number of management teams by developing their global presence, so we are confident that he will support our aspirations for international growth.”
