Advent Animation 2014 – Dec 21: If you’re happy and you know it cut the tree… (Sebastian Meinecke)

// Featured

Last year, I went out into the woods and chopped down my own Christmas tree for the first time. A lot of thought goes into choosing the right size and shape and species. And, as this short from LIGA 01 reveals, you also have to watch out for the carnivorous conifers!

From animator Sebastian Meinecke:

Interesting moment, fact or point of inspiration from your production:
For the look of the spot, I animated an outline in flash and had to color every single shot in Photoshop with the particular brush. It was quite time intensive but fun!

What special holiday treat would you bring to the Animator’s Holiday Potluck Party:
I’m half french, so I would bring a filet de charolais et ravioles which would be a nice steak with small vegetable ravioli.

One favorite holiday memory from your childhood?
The time when I threw a huge stone on a women’s foot in Greece (I think I was 3 or 4 years old).

What’s one thing you are looking forward to in the new year?
Surprises!

#AdventAnimation is a daily showcase of holiday themed animation. If you are working on something with a touch of holiday cheer that will be released sometime between 1 December and Christmas Eve, drop me a note and I will put it into consideration.
