Dec 6: Yule Log 2.0 (Daniel Savage)

// News

Say good-bye to your boring screensaver! Daniel Savage has brought you a warm and toasty yuletide animation collaboration. 66 animators and illustrators participated in the project, each contributing their own stylistic take on that giant log burning all night in the fireplace (or on your TV if you live in New York). The entire series is collected in one extra long loop on watchyulelog.com, so kick up your feet with a hot toddy in front of what is sure to become a new holiday tradition.

Some words from Yule Log Ringmaster, Daniel Savage:

Interesting moment, fact or point of inspiration from your production:
A couple of illustrators/graphic designers I love don’t animate, so trying to team them up with animators was really interesting. For instance, in ‘Tis the Season, I teamed up a vet graphic designer with a young animator, and the results are great.

Most memorable Christmas moment:
My sisters and I used to tie pillows to our feet so Mom wouldn’t hear us and snoop to see what presents we could find. We called them “Santa Clogs”

At the top of the Christmas list:
3DS XL!

(Hat Tip to Cartoon Brew).

#AdventAnimation is a daily showcase of holiday themed animation. If you are working on something with a touch of holiday cheer that will be released sometime between 1 December and Christmas Eve, drop me a note and I will put it into consideration.
