// News

DepicT!, the ultra-short competition strand of Bristol’s Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival has today opened its call for submission. As with prior editions, the contest is open to films of any nationality, genre, budget and level of professionalism, so long as the overall runtime doesn’t exceed 90 seconds.

Shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to showcase their work at the Encounters festival, which this year runs from September 19th-24th, with a chance of winning up to £2500 in prize money courtesy of event sponsors including Aardman Animations. DepicT! also offers exclusive prizes and career opportunities in association with BAFTA, NFTS, Channel 4’s Random Acts and Shooting People.

Animated films to have been shortlisted by DepicT! over the years include work by Thomas Lucas, Dane Winn, Anna Ginsburg, The Brothers McLeod and Felix Massie with award-winners including Aidan McAteer, Steve Kirby, Mole Hill, Matthew Walker, Ant Blades and Paul Hill.

Deadline for entries is Monday 3rd July 2017. To learn more and enter your work for this year’s edition visit depict.org
