Come and celebrate 4 years of Cardiff Animation Nights with super special animated films and great people – and an animation bake-off!

It’s free and open to everyone, whether you’re a cartoon fan, an animator, or you just want to check out something new.

Bringing a cake is not compulsory but highly encouraged!

Our lineup of funny, moving, surprising, heartwarming and brilliant animated short films this month includes:

WEEKENDS
Multi-award-winning short film by Pixar Story Artist Trevor Jimenez, winner of both the Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award at Annecy.
“Set in 1980s Toronto, Weekends tells the story of a young boy shuffling between the homes of his recently divorced parents.”

INANIMATE
Masterful stop-motion NFTS short from Italian director Lucia Bulgheroni, fresh from screenings at Cannes and Annecy.
“Katrine has a normal life, a normal job, a normal boyfriend and a normal apartment in a normal city. Or at least thats what she thinks, until one day everything starts falling apart – literally!”

FACING IT
A beautiful 2D Japanese animated short from independent director Wenyu Li.
“A little pig from rural ‘P town’ goes off to to live in the Metropolis. But he finds that a small-town pig isn’t always welcome among the elephants who live in ‘City ELE’.”

In the Level 2 space at Kongs Cardiff, opposite Cardiff Market on St Mary Street. Doors 7:30pm, films from 8pm. Free entry! Come for the films, stay for a drink and meet other animation fans.
