The Foundry launch Student Championship

// News

Today sees the launch of The Foundry Student Championship, a new contest from leading creative software developer The Foundry with an aim to “provide an opportunity for young creatives across the world to showcase their best design and VFX work to an international audience”.

To help ease the challenges that talented young artists face in getting their work seen and supported, The Foundry have developed what will be an annual campaign to support and empower creative artists, with the best entries not only showcased on The Foundry’s website but also given additional visibility through “marketing collateral, social media and industry events around the world”.

With all entries judged by a panel of The Foundry experts, the top three submissions will each win over £6000 worth of valuable industry software (NUKE STUDIO, MODO and MARI, forming the Production COLLECTIVE), with an overall winner granted the prestigious title of ‘The Foundry Student Champion of 2016’.

The VFX and design industry is incredibly competitive to break into, as a company we are really passionate about giving the students with visionary ideas and potential the chance to promote their work and super-charge their career. We are committed to championing creative and design professionals across the board, especially the stars of tomorrow.
We’re anticipating some phenomenal entries and want to help the next generation of creative talent to prosper. This is one of the most exciting industries in the world to work in, and we want to use our strength to help find its future leaders.

-Alex Mahon, The Foundry CEO

College and university students may submit their best work via The Foundry’s dedicated championship page (by 5pm December 2nd 2016) and follow the contest using the Twitter hashtag #WhatsInMyMind. Full terms and conditions can be read here.
