In the latest episode of our animated mini-documentary series Lightbox we meet Mackinnon and Saunders founders Ian Mackinnon and Peter Saunders.
As one of the world’s leading puppet-making companies, Mackinnon and Saunders specialise in designing and constructing characters for short films, commercials, television shows and feature films.
Their body of work, which includes the Tim Burton films Frankenweenie and The Corpse Bride as well as Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox, is presently being showcased as part of the exhibition Puppet Masters: Celebrating Animation at Greater Manchester’s Waterside Arts Centre. Bringing together an assortment of the sets, puppets, designs, sketches and concepts the company have produced over the years, the exhibition will continue until February 27th 2016.
