Locksmith Animation locks down deal with Paramount Pictures

Locksmith Animation and Paramount Pictures have sealed the deal to release multiple films, the first being released in 2020. This marks the first news of distribution to come out of Locksmith Animation, a new division by Oscar winning VFX company Double Negative. Locksmith Animation was founded in 2014 by Sarah Smith and Julie Lockhart as well as receiving financial backing from Elizabeth Murdoch. Locksmith Animation will be developing three of their properties that they currently have in development. The first of these projects plans to head into production within the next 12 months and will be released in 2020.

The deal will also be open to the possibility of creating more projects over time. Locksmith Animation is the first UK, CG Feature Animation studio and they’ve shown a lot of promise so far.
