Lupus Films teams up with Creative Skillset and Frank Gladstone for Exclusive Storyboarding for Animation Master Classes

Renowned production company Lupus Films (The Snowman and the Snowdog, The Pinky & Perky Show, The Hive) is teaming up with Creative Skillset this summer to host two intensive animation storyboarding master classes with storyboarding guru Frank Gladstone (Shark Tale, Sinbad).

Frank Gladstone has had an illustrious career developing projects for major studios including Disney, Dreamworks and Aardman Animations and has lectured on storyboarding for animation to students all over the world. Now he’s bringing his expertise to the UK for a one day introductory master class – Story Structure and the Visual Narrative – and a four week intensive programme – Visual Storyboarding for Animation.

100% funded by Creative Skillset the free, one-day master classes – Story Structure and the Visual Narrative – will take place from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 6th and Saturday 13th July at a central London venue. Presented by Frank Gladstone, the course will focus on the basic elements of narrative structure and the building blocks of cinematic language. Students can learn all about storyboarding, production design and cinematic storytelling as Frank deconstructs a feature film to illustrate his points. The intensive four-week programme – Visual Storyboarding for Animation – will take place at Lupus Films’ offices in Islington, London, Monday to Fridays from 1st – 26th July. 100% funded by Creative Skillset, the course is open to applicants with two years or more experience in the animation industry and will focus on training experienced boarders in the story-telling and directing skills needed to run board-led, animation series for 8-12 year olds. To apply applicants must email info@lupusfilms.com with a 2-3 page sample storyboard as a PDF, along with a CV and covering letter explaining why the course would be useful for their career development by 10 June, Applicants must be able to commit to the whole course and have a basic knowledge of Toon Boom’s Storyboard Pro software and be used to working on a Cintiq.
