Marilyn Myller: Trailer
Mikey Please the BAFTA winning director behind The Eagleman Stag has released a trailer for his latest film Marilyn Myller. The film was originally called Martyn Myller but it would appear the protagonist had a change of sex during production. Here is what he had to say about the film on his facebook page
A year in the making, the full six minute stopmotion short features the voice of Josie Long, one zillion hand carved tiny things, literally tens of carved foam puppets, two eye fulls of in-camera, long-exposure light trickery and a pair of tiny dolphins, smooching.
The film premiers today at the Edinburgh Film Festival and is described as a “profound short charts the torment of the artistic soul.” The film is also eligible for the McLaren Award for new British Animation, and award that celebrates its 25th year next year to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Norman McLarens birth.
