// News

The teaser trailer for the upcoming Paddington Bear movie has been unveiled. Due to arrive in the UK in November 2014, the movie debut of Michael Bond’s marmalade-sandwich munching, raincoat wearing, Peruvian-born bear making his way in London is being delivered by Bunny and the Bull (and Mighty Boosh) director Paul King and the Oscar winning, Gravity and Harry Potter producer David Heyman.

Paddington will be a CG creation, currently being bought to life by London-based FX house Framestore and voiced by Oscar-winner Colin Firth. The rest of the cast are distinctly human and include British acting royalty Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters, whilst the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Brown, who name Paddington after the train-station they discover him in, are played by Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins (Made in Dagenham, Blue Jasmine and the upcoming Godzilla.) The chief villain duties fall to Nicole Kidman, playing the role of an evil taxidermist, ironically looking to stuff one of the worlds most iconic stuffed bears.

Granted, we don’t see much of the titular bear (or hear him at all) as is par for the course with teasers these days, but one certainly gets the sense that this won’t be another Yogi Bear or *shudder* Scooby Doo, due to the fine pedigree of the cast and crew, but only time will tell.

The trailer debuted on Yahoo and can be viewed here, let us know what you think in the comments below!
