What is the film about?

Every time Lucy is called ‘Mouse’ by her Mum, she turns into a real mouse! What is Lucy going to do?

A little background information...

I had a couple of very quiet months in summer 2015 and didn’t have many paid projects. So I decided to invest my time into making my own short film. I followed friend’s advice to tell a story about something I know very well. So I decided to use my own childhood frustrations as an inspiration. My mum still calls me “Mouse”.

How was the film made?

I had a doodle in my sketchbook of a girl who turns into a mouse when her mum calls her “Mouse”. Once the script was ready, I asked my friends and family to do voice overs. My friend Sinead Keenan (“Doctor Who”, “Thunderbirds are Go”) did the voice for the mother character. My niece Lyla McLeod did the voice for the girl and my husband Myles McLeod did all the parents and even a grandma. My friend Tom Angell wrote the music for it. I animated it in the evenings after work. I worked on it for about 5 months. It did very well at the festivals, won awards, was acquired by TV channels, museums and schools.
