Dir: Andreea Stan

What is the film about?

Rekindle. Start new or start from the point where you left it. Set in a surreal world, between the bottom of the ocean and the waves under a night sky, “Rekindle” talks about love, memory, loss and longing, about falling in love twice with the same person, despite the fact that first time it didn’t really work.

What influenced it?

Michel Gondry, Julia Pott.

A little background information...

Our lives are filled with stories. Things that happened to us, things we did with our friends, families, loved ones etc. They change us and make us who we are. Some stories leave us only with faded images in our minds, no physical memories. And it somehow feels like they never happened, like they will be erased even from history if we forget them. “Rekindle” is inspired by such a story. If I ever forget, this film will remind me of it again.
