What is the film about?

I had the great opportunity to create and direct some titles for upcoming sitcom pilot Rules of LIfe. Animating a day in the life of hapless main character of Stan, it was produced using hand drawn techniques and edited it After Effects. Why can’t they animate the whole sitcom I wonder? Hope you enjoy.

What influenced it?

My major influence is hand drawn animation from the golden era of Disney and it has progressed from there. I really like rough drawings of the great masters hence why I keep my construction lines in

A little background information...

A friend of mine, Luke Butler, had directed this great comedy sitcom pilot and asked me to produce the titles for it. He let me have full creative reign so I was quick to say yes! The rest is history as they say

How was the film made?

It was created using traditional hand drawn techniques. Animation paper, a lightbox and boxes of pencils. This was then scanned and coloured in Photoshop and comped in After Effects.
