Not being a fan of Football, or England particularly, you might think that such an animation as this which is aimed specifically at that kind of audience, would not really be my thing.
However you’d be wrong wrong wrong, as this animated short shows an impressive low key approach reminiscent of old 8 bit computer games (which I do have great experience and enthusiasm for) and is very funny and engaging, with a great feelgood ending. It is a short animation that accompanies the Club mix of the Official Euro Anthem, Sing 4 England. Created by Seed Animation, and released by Mcasso.
It is sung by Chris Kamara, the Sky Sports Presenter and Commentator, and it draws heavily on his well-known gaffes, which means anyone else watching this will understand the “missed red card” and “fighting like beavers” gags. For me it impressed simply because of how simple it was. The whole thing was done in 8 days, and you can see why, but thats not a criticism, its proof that great animation can be as basic as this and still work beautifully in keeping your attention and making you smile. So whether your a football fan or not this promo is well worth checking out.
