Virgin Media is today launching the next chapter of its “Switch to Super” campaign, which brings to life the benefits of its super broadband speeds and super entertainment offering.

Following on from the first part of the campaign which saw Usain Bolt transforming into a superhero, the next phase is a continuation of Super Bolt’s adventures and sees the campaign transition into an entirely animated world. It will run for eight weeks across TV, VOD, press, radio, online and social and is fronted by a vibrant new TV ad which launched on Friday.

The campaign was created by BBH London, with the second chapter animated by creative duo, Smith and Foulkes. The brand new TV ad, produced by Nexus Studios, sees Super Bolt leap into action and use his super power (speed) to save an out-of-control train packed full of football fans. The passengers go from sheer panic to pure amazement as Super Bolt describes the super entertainment he’s enjoying since switching to the Virgin Media Full House Bundle. With intricate animation and delicate detail of characters from Super Bolt to Southampton fans, the film brings to life the incredible world of super entertainment available from Virgin Media.

Super Bolt remains at the heart of this integrated, through-the-line campaign and he continues to embody our lightning-fast broadband speeds and incredible entertainment.

-Sharon Hegarty, Director of Brand and Marketing at Virgin Media

Great campaigns always build the brand for the long term whilst trading hard in the short term. All the early indicators suggest that ‘Switch to Super’ will do both of those important jobs for Virgin Media.

-Ben Fennell, Chief Executive Officer, BBH London

The film, hand drawn frame by frame, demonstrates that switching to Virgin Media will deliver super broadband speeds, super entertainment and super value, and is underpinned by Virgin Media’s offer of no set up fee for customers who join in August and September 2018. It ends with the line: ‘Switch to super entertainment today, search Virgin Media bundles’.
