Participants sought for touring workshop ‘World in (Stop) Motion’

// News

Award-winning director Chloé Alliez (whose short film work includes last year’s Toutes Nuancées) and fellow La Cambre graduate Violette Delvoye have recently joined forces for World in (Stop) Motion, an “itinerant and participative animated series, entirely made in stop-motion”.

Each episode will chronicle the journey of Gaïa, a nomadic young woman whose travels are mirrored by Chloé and Violette’s own as they progress the series through traveling workshops. You can learn about the endeavour in more detail in the duo’s presentation video below:

Having been successfully crowdfunded the project will go forward in May. The touring workshops will last between 2-7 days and begin in Brussels with a plan to expand through to other part of Europe and beyond. Embracing stop-motion’s potential as a medium that can engage professionals and amateurs alike, there will be no restrictions on who can take part although workshop sizes aim to be fairly modest with roughly five participants or less per episode.

European associations, schools, festivals or individuals who may wish to get involved can contact the duo via their website and Facebook page. or contribute to their ongoing campaign that will run through to March 15th.
