CAF 2026: Animators Book Club
About Event
Have you ever wondered what takes more patience – making a whole animated film or writing a whole book?! Meet the people who can tell you – the authors of animation books, from retrospectives to deep-dives to kids books and graphic novels.
Skwigly Online Animation Magazine will host this Q+A with animators who have swapped the drawing pen for the writing pen and published their own books. From an in-depth look into the creative process of director Joanna Quinn and screenwriter Les Mills, to the fantastical adventure of Knight Sir Louis with Greg McLeod, to the landscape of contemporary animated films that deal with themes of love, intimacy and relationships with Ben Mitchell and Laura-Beth Cowley – you’ll hear how these filmmakers have transferred their love of animation and creativity on to the page.
Coffee and croissants provided.
The Q&A will be followed by a book signing – a chance to meet the authors, buy their books, and have your copy signed.
