Skwigly

This year, for the first time, Anima is also taking place at Marni, on the other side of Place Flagey! This former cinema will have four screenings a day from 24 February to 2 March. The programme has been designed with film students and curious young cinemagoers in mind, with a mix of classics and thematic new releases: science fiction, documentaries (Real Life Stories), women’s stories (Girls Girls Girls), as well as short films in competition, intimate features and much more!

MARNI, MORE THAN A CINEMA

Marni has a large bar that will be open to all festivalgoers. This cosy space will allow you to settle in and work remotely, draw, set up meetings and have a bite to eat, all in a relaxed atmosphere. There will also be a reading corner stacked with Cyril Pedrosa’s great comic strips, so you can read in peace and quiet.

MEET THE TALENTS

On occasion, the bar will also host some of the many ‘Meet the Talents’ events! Join us to meet the directors of the short films in the official selection and find out a little more about their films (schedules online from 30 January).

ADULT SWIM: CELEBRATING RICK AND MORTY

No need to introduce the cult duo Rick and Morty! In this special screening, Adult Swim invites you to (re)discover three key episodes from the series that tackle the often stormy subject of LOVE in the world of Rick and Morty. The screening will be followed by a live drawing competition on the theme of SCI-FI: LOVE & LOSS, with some fun goodies to be won!

FUTURANIMA AT MARNI!

A number of Futuranima’s professional meetings will also take place at Marni, including a packed Monday 26 February: Speed Dating to connect the animation and special-effects sectors, professional stands (Amplo, Mediarte, Technocité and UBV) and, in the evening, Brotaru, a monthly gathering for video game developers.

Open to everyone, young and old, professional or not, Marni is the new venue that is all that Anima is: inclusive, warm and relaxed.

The complete programme of Anima will be announced on 30 January 2024. Discover now the official selection of short films on www.animafestival.be
