Animayo has opened submissions for its 2027 International Poster Competition, inviting designers and illustrators from around the world to create the official image for the festival’s 22nd edition.

The competition is free to enter and open to designers and illustrators of all nationalities aged 16 and over. The winning design will become the official poster for Animayo 2027, which takes place in Gran Canaria from 5–8 May 2027.

The selected artwork will feature across the festival’s promotional materials and accompany its activities at venues throughout the Canary Islands, offering the winning artist an opportunity to showcase their work to an international audience.

The winner will receive a cash prize of €500, with an additional discretionary second prize of €250.

Organisers have confirmed that generative AI-created artwork will not be accepted. Entrants will be required to provide layered source files to verify the originality and human authorship of their designs.

The competition closes on 31 December 2026, with finalists scheduled to be announced on 5 February 2027 and the winning design revealed on 19 February 2027.

Animayo is an Academy Award-qualifying and Annie Awards-qualifying festival dedicated to animation, visual effects and video games. Its 2027 edition will mark the festival’s 22nd year.

Full competition rules and the entry form are available on the official Animayo website.
