BFX Pro, in partnership with The Foundry, brings new track for professionals to BFX Festival 2015

BFX Festival is back later this month with screenings, presentations, panels and more. From 28th September to 4 October some of the biggest names in visual effects and animation will come to Bournemouth to celebrate and promote the visual effects, animation and gaming industry.

For the first time, BFX Festival will include BFX Pro, which brings The Foundry’s experts together with some of the biggest names in the VFX industry and takes place on Monday 28 September. The one-day conference comprises presentations, demos and networking for CTO’s, pipeline engineers, asset managers, service providers, professionals and academics working within the creative industries.

Current and future research, services & platforms, and their role within the sector are all on the agenda. Themes include ‘Tools for Iteration and Collaboration: Pipeline Empowers Creativity’, ‘The Cloud – Invisible Technology and the Backbone of the Future’ and ‘A/R & V/R – The Reality of Virtual Content’.

Below is some of what you can expect to see.

Pipeline Empowers Creativity will be hosted by Jordan Thistlewood, Head of Creative Specialists at The Foundry. The confirmed panellists are:
Davide Pesare, Lead Engineer USD – Pixar
Rob Pieké, Software Lead – MPC and James Golding, Lead Programmer – EPIC Games.

The Cloud – Invisible Technology will be hosted by Jon Wadelton, CTO at The Foundry. The confirmed panellists are:
Dominic Anschutz, Director – Global Cloud Team, Microsoft,
Lee Danskin, CTO – Escape Tech and Matt Hawkin, Founder & Chairman – C4L.

A/R & V/R – The Reality of Virtual Content will be hosted by Jon Starck, Head of Research at The Foundry. The confirmed panellists are:
Duncan McWilliam, CEO – OutpostVFX, Jarrad Vladich, Executive Producer, The Mill and Carl Grinter, Director and Executive Producer – Three Wise Monkeys.
