Congratulations to the 2025 Emile Awards Announce Winners!

On 16 November, ten awards were presented to short and feature animated films, including distinctions for Best Script, Best Character Design and Backgrounds, Outstanding Sound Design and Music, and Best Student Film. The event also revealed the titles recognised as Best of the Best.

Paying homage to the pioneers of European animation, Émile Reynaud and Émile Cohl, the European Animation Awards Association (EAA) was established to honour and celebrate the significance and excellence of European animation. Outstanding animated films are created by talented authors and remarkable artists, and Europe – with its diverse and vibrant animation community – has much to celebrate.

  • Best Writing in Feature Film – PELIKAN BLUE by László Csáki
  • Best Soundtrack in Feature Film – FLOW by Gints Ziebalodis, sound mix by Mikko Raita
  • Best Backgrounds and Character Design – FLOW by Gints Ziebalodis
  • Best Animation in Feature Film – SULTANA’S DREAM by Isabel Herguera,
  • Best of the Best in Feature Film – FLOW by Gints Ziebalodis

Short Film

  • Best Character Design and Backgrounds – JOKO by Izabela Plucinska
  • Best Sound Design and Music – WINTER by Tomek Popakul and Kasumi Ozeki, sound designer Michal Fojcik
  • Best Animation – WANDER TO WONDER by Nina ganz, animators: Kristien Vanden, Bussche Steven de Beul, Rosanne Janssens, Sergio Lara Jimenez, Ben Tesseur, Soetkin Verstegen, Andrine Gimnenez
