About Event

Join Aardman co-founders David Sproxton and Peter Lord for a deep dive into the world of Morph, one of the first characters created by the Bristol based studio, who would go on to entertain generations with his slapstick antics.

The iconic animated clay character Morph was created in 1976 by Aardman founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton, making his TV debut the following year in the children’s BBC programme Take Hart, alongside artist and presenter Tony Hart.

Morph’s early prototype The Gleebies had been created by Peter and David for the BBC Children’s show Vision On, which whilst designed for D/deaf children was enjoyed by everyone. This very simple-shaped character whose slapstick antics endeared him to generations of children and adults alike was one of Aardman’s first creations, to be later joined by his cream-coloured partner-in-crime Chas for The Amazing Adventures of Morph, a hugely popular 26-part TV series.

A regular fixture on children’s TV in the 70s and 80s, most recently Morph and Chas appeared in The Epic Adventures of Morph, a longer format series launched in 2020. Now marking his fifth decade at the top of show biz Morph is as playfully mischievous as ever!
