As we’re stepping into warmer weather, the next Bristol Animation Meetup (BAM) is within reach! ☀️
BAM are excited to share that we’ll be back at the Golden Guinea from 7pm on the 10th of June ✨ For this edition we are also bringing back our industry professional One-on-One sessions! If you’re a student, new to Bristol or just want to have a one-on-one with an industry expert, be sure to come along to the latest edition of BAM at Golden Guinea on June 10th from 7:00pm!
Industry Professionals
Luke Hyde is a Bristol based freelance 2D animator, storyboard artist, and comic creator. Over the past 16 years, he’s worked on a range of exciting projects, including Space King, Battletoads (2020), Disney Illusion Island, and many more.
Throughout his career, Luke has collaborated with studios such as Disney, Cartoon Network, Rare, and Obsidian across animation, games, and development projects.
In comics, he’s contributed to the The Phoenix, where his work has appeared both on the cover and inside the publication. He’s also illustrated the weekly Adventure Time comic for Cloud King Creative, alongside developing several personal publications of his own.
His current project is a graphic novel series featuring his original character BACON, which is currently in production. Chapter Two was recently successfully funded through Kickstarter.

Signe Tveitan is a Danish, Bristol based CG artist. Over the last 8 years, she has worked as a generalist at Aardman on projects including Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Star Wars: Visions, and most recently Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu.
Her work spans most aspects of the production pipeline, from character design and sculpting to modelling, hair and fur, shading and lighting.
Signe will be available to discuss:
- Showreel and portfolio feedback
- Identifying gaps and areas for improvement and presentation
- Nitty-gritty chats about tools and techniques in ZBrush, Maya and Houdini
- As well as knitting, sewing, crochet or any other crafty pastimes
Dan Keeble is a creative director, animator and pipeline enthusiast at Sun & Moon Studios, where he’s been happily making cartoons for the past 15 years.
From hand drawn animation to rigging, directing and technical development, Dan loves every stage of the animation pipeline, especially the parts where art and technology overlap. He has a particular interest in developing new workflows, experimenting with rigging techniques, and teaching Toon Boom Harmony.
Career highlights include directing animation on Horrible Science, creating adverts for Life Is Strange, developing groundbreaking rigs for reanimated episodes of Doctor Who, contributing across multiple stages of productions including Duck and Frog and Maddie + Triggs, and doing hand-drawn animation on Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.

Tova Persson is a Bristol based animation director, production coordinator, and storyboard artist as well as a co-organiser for BAM!
With 4 years of experience she has worked with roles varying from designer, storyboard artist, and production coordinator. Having worked for a handful of Bristol based companies like Sun & Moon, Rumpus, A Productions, and Aardman where she has been involved in projects for Sesame Street, Horrible Science, BBC Bitesize, and Penhaligons.
Tova directed the short Offerlamm whilst studying at UWE’s School of Animation which had a successful international festival run and won multiple awards. Offerlamm is part of the national archive of contemporary animation at the BFI, has been presented at Playgrounds in Motion, and was nominated for an Audience Award at the British Animation Awards.
She currently works for Lux Aeterna VFX as their production coordinator working with natural history series and is getting ready to direct her next short!
