Peter & The Wolf: Live In Concert
A celebration of animation and music: live-in-concert screenings with orchestra of the Academy Award®-winning stop-motion masterpiece PETER & THE WOLF (2008 Oscar®-winner – Best Animated Short Film). St Paul’s Sinfonia will present three performances with the film on November 18th at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm at Oxford Street’s Regent Hall. Celebrated director Suzie Templeton will be on stage together with some of her original puppets that star in the film (travelling over from BreakThru Films in Poland) to take part in an extended introduction to the artistry of the movie and the timeless Prokofiev orchestral score.
Opening the concerts will be an exclusive excerpt from KENSUKE’S KINGDOM: with composer/conductor Stuart Hancock presenting his own score performed live. Kensuke’s Kingdom, the long-awaited animated adaptation of the Michael Morpurgo book of the same name, is directed by Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry; it premiered at Annecy and has its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival.
All profits from the event will benefit UK MUSIC MASTERS – empowering children to reach their creative potential through music, no matter their background.
