Hot Peasant Summer is a dark comedy that follows Brooke and Hayley, two modern best friends who somehow time-travel from a present-day night out into a medieval fever dream. After the initial shock wears off, the pair quickly settle in among the baffled locals and soon find themselves throwing a bachelorette party for peasant bride Agnes. Brooke and Hayley are voiced by Kaya Scodelario (The Gentleman, Skins) and Hannah Pilkes (Hacks, The Woodsman), who bring sharp wit and infectious energy to the fast-talking duo.

Based in Leeds, Laura Jayne Hodkin is an animator and filmmaker whose work has screened around the world. After earning an MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art, she has since collaborated with Adult Swim, Bento Box and Netflix to develop original content and contribute to series development.

Hot Peasant Summer marks Blink Industries’ latest addition to Dropout’s Toonout slate, showcasing original animation from some of the industry’s most distinctive creative voices.
