LAIKA celebrates ‘Missing Link’ Golden Globe nomination with new featurette

// News

Missing Link, LAIKA‘s latest stop-motion feature released earlier this year, is among the nominees for the 77th Golden Globe Awards in the Best Motion Picture – Animated category. In celebration the studio have released a specially-made behind-the-scenes featurette:

Produced by LAIKA/Annapurna Pictures and United Artists Releasing, the film is the only one of the nominees to be neither a sequel nor remake, nominated alongside Frozen 2 (Walt Disney Animation Studios; Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures), How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (DreamWorks Animation; Universal Pictures), The Lion King ( Walt Disney Pictures; Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures) and Toy Story 4 (Pixar Animation Studios; Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures).

Everyone at LAIKA is absolutely thrilled to have received a ‘Best Motion Picture – Animated’ Golden Globe nomination for Missing Link. It takes more than a ‘village’ to create a LAIKA movie; it takes a ‘legion’ of talented artists and technologists to bring our original films to audiences around the world.  At its core, Missing Link is about finding out who you are in this world and where you fit in… for the LAIKA team that means always evolving the stop motion animated art form to tell unique stories with bold and memorable characters. A most sincere thanks to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for this acknowledgement
