Youth audiovisual content sales company Madgic Distribution has signed a number of key global broadcast deals for season 1 of its 2D animated adventure- comedy series Lana Longbeard following the show’s successful launch on Gulli in France in April this year and on CBC Canada, Super RTL Germany, Cartoon Network and HBO Max in EMEA in 2025.

Lana Longbeard (Madgic Distribution)

Co-produced by Madgic’s studio Zephyr Animation and Copernicus Studio in Canada, with the participation of Warner Bros Discovery EMEA, Super RTL, M6/Gulli, CBC, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Cinema and Madgic Distribution, the 52 x 11’ series has now been picked up by Sky New Zealand, TG4 in Ireland, Sandbox and Société Radio-Canada.

Broadcasters already on board include Noga Israël and HKTVE (ViuTVsix) in Hong Kong.

Lana is a super feisty, forward thinking, and passionate 12-year-old girl, and the heir to her father’s adventuring ship, the Mighty Windbreaker.

Along with her Viking dad and his super diverse crew of rogues (a dwarf, an orc, a barbarian, and a cyclops), she sails across the Ten Realms, dreaming of becoming one of the greatest adventurers of all time. But first she must overcome some challenging obstacles: impulsivity, stubbornness, extreme curiosity, disdain for rules, and love of pancakes. All the best things about her!

Lana Longbeard is a fun, original animated series which has become a hit following its launch last year. Its themes of adventure, diversity and friendship resonate with both girls and boys and we are excited to grow the show’s fandom in new territories.

Created by Toni Mitchell and Andrew Powe, Lana Longbeard is executive produced by Zephyr’s David Sauerwein and Copernicus’ Paul Rigg. The series was nominated at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards in the Best Animated Series section as well as Golden Sparrow Awards in Germany.
