Lightbox: Greg McLeod (The Brothers McLeod)

// Interviews

In the latest episode of Lightbox Skwigly talks to Greg of The Brothers McLeod who, along with his writing brother Myles, have been a staple of the UK animation scene for sometime. On top of high profile commissioned work including the BAFTA-nominated/Webby award-winning Art Sparks for Tate Kids and the BAFTA-winning Quiff & Boot, the creative duo boast a rich filmography of their own work including Phone Home, The Moon Bird, the BAFTA-nominated Codswallop and the upcoming animated travelogue Marfa.

Their most recent project to make a major splash has been the much-acclaimed 365, in which Greg committed to producing one second of animation every day throughout 2013, posting the results over social media and grouping each set in chronological order by month on Vimeo. Since the project ended the assortment of disconnected, bizarre and often humorous vignettes were combined to make a standalone film that has since picked up multiple awards and screened at festivals including last year’s Annecy.
