Lund Fantastic Film Festival has unveiled its 2026 programme, with 28 animated films from 17 countries selected for its 32nd edition. Taking place in Lund, Sweden, from 28 October to 4 November, Sweden’s oldest genre festival celebrates fantastic cinema across horror, science fiction and fantasy.

Animation accounts for more than a quarter of this year’s 101-film programme, with two animated features and 26 shorts. Thirteen animated titles will compete across the festival’s four competition strands.

Leading the feature selection is Alberto Vázquez’s Decorado, a Spain/Portugal production screening in the Méliès d’Argent competition. Joining it in the programme is Dusty Saunders’ Big City Pizza from the USA.

The animated shorts span Europe, Asia and the Americas. France has five films in the selection, including Anna Murie’s SCREAM! IT’S GROWING!, Léa Déaux’s Hazy Eyes and Iulia Voitova’s Long Distance. The US selection includes Lucas Ansel’s The 12 Inch Pianist, Lena Greene’s Tuna Tartare, Phoebe Chou’s Guardian’s Lament and Sandra Powers’ Beasts of Death.

Swedish animation is represented by Frans Sjöberg’s Wormwood and Copper and Anna Mantzaris’ Please, both selected for the Find Fantastic competition. Other titles include Dimitris Armenakis’ The Synthetic Age from Greece, Greg Doble’s BLISS from Canada and Nadia Barbu’s Romania/UK production The Housing Ladder.
