Northern Animation Network Launches “North Animation Artists” Interview Series

Northern Animation Network (NAN), a collaboration between four leading Nordic-Baltic animation festivals, proudly announces the launch of North Animation Artists – a new series of insightful video interviews spotlighting the region’s most influential and emerging animation voices.
The first interview – with Oscar-nominated Icelandic filmmaker, Sara Gunnarsdóttir – goes live today (13 January 2026, on NAN’s newly established YouTube channel. See below:
Filmed throughout the fall of 2025 at the partnering festivals, the portraits feature candid conversations that illuminate the creative processes, artistic heritage, and imaginative power behind animation in the region.
NAN is pleased to reveal the first lineup of featured artists: Kajsa Næss, Anu-Laura Tuttelberg, Karla Nor Holmbäck, Ignas Meilūnas, Kristian Pedersen, Endre Skandfer, and Nathan Jurevičius – with many more to follow throughout the year.
The first videos are out on January 13th and 16th, the following new releases will be 14 days apart throughout the year.
