Based on the hit action-fantasy webtoon published by Jaedam Media and created by writer Kkulbeol and illustrator Beolkkul, Hero Killer is one of the most successful action titles on Naver Webtoon, the largest South Korean digital comic and webtoon platform. Available in ten languages worldwide and spanning more than 250 published episodes, the webtoon has captivated millions of readers through its striking visual style, explosive action and complex storytelling. The series will bring the scale, intensity and emotion of the original to the screen for a global audience.
To mark the announcement, the production has unveiled a brand new, exclusive illustration from original creators Kkulbeol and Beolkkul, its first official teaser visual and launched the project’s official online channels, including the website and official Instagram and X accounts.
Director David Pagaille said:
What kind of justice exists in a world where those with power cannot be held accountable? What choices are there for those who have nothing left? It is these mature, nuanced, and resolutely contemporary questions, at the heart of a blend of action and compelling characters, that ultimately inspired me to bring this story and this world to life!
Caroline Audebert, Managing Director of Passion Paris, said:
Hero Killer immediately captured our imagination. It’s a bold, emotionally charged story with a fascinating heroine at its centre. At Passion, we’re always looking for projects that push us forward creatively, and Hero Killer offers a rare combination of cinematic action, compelling characters and an expansive universe.
