ANIMASYROS 2026 had it all: 7 action-packed days and the biggest and most ambitious programme to date, featuring 280 films – the very best of international animation, leading guests from around the world, 7 competition sections, 6 themed tributes (Ireland, Freedom 250 featuring classic Disney films, the Royal College of Art, Lebanon, Armenia, and New Voices of German Animation), the established International Panorama, specially selected films for children, original workshops for all ages, and an extensive Agora programme, bringing together the global animation community with more than 100 professionals from 20 countries. The festival also welcomed visitors from around the world who travelled to Greece for the first time for ANIMASYROS, alongside the Festival’s beloved returning friends who, for 19 years, have been meeting every September on the island of Syros.
