Screening the funniest short films since 2011. Short Com is the short comedy film festival that puts the funny first into its programming. Whether it be live action or animation, Short Com prides itself on selecting the funniest new films by emerging filmmaking talent from around the world. And we are now delighted to be a BIFA Qualifying Film Festival.

Submissions are currently open for their 2021 programme. And we are looking forward to returning to in person screenings hopefully this Autumn in London. (Pandemic pending). Filmmakers can submit their films via FilmFreeway here.

We are delighted to offer prizes by our sponsors Festival Formula, Final Draft and Greenlit. Successful entries will have the chance to win the chance of $500 for the Funniest Film Award as judged by our special panel of judges; Ben Sharrock (Limbo) Karen O’Leary (Wellington Paranormal) and Celine Roustan (Short Of The Week).

Short Com has been screening the funniest films since 2011 with humble beginnings in Manchester. Since then has now screened in several major cities such as Edinburgh, Bristol. London, Berlin and Glasgow as part of the Glasgow Short Film Festival for two years.

Films must be no older than March 2020 and the final deadline is 6th September 2021.
