What is the film about?

Music video for Declan McKenna’s “British Bombs. I recently directed this music video and used a mixture of live-action puppetry, stock footage, and hand-drawn animation.

A little background information...

The song is a protest against the British arms sales around the globe, and the turmoil and war that it fuels. I pitched a video that would juxtapose a naive and nostalgic vision of a British family with images of war and destruction.

How was the film made?

The puppetry was shot over two days of madness, whilst the animation was created digitally on a wacom over two weeks.
