What is the film about?

A buddy road trip movie about two guys just trying to escape the horrors of war on a journey that might be their last shot at survival. One is desperate to save his family, while the other is seeking redemption for his past.

What influenced it?

I wanted to direct something with the car involved. I dug through car commercials and racing trailers and kept returning to the opening of Drive as the core inspiration. The style is simple. Cartoonish characters move through a gritty realistic world. The tone sits between drama and comedy so the ride stays tense but watchable.

A little background information...

My passion has always been telling stories, and for most of my life, I’ve been driven to bring them to life. This is the first short film I feel is good enough to share. My style blends tragedy with comedy, aiming to strike a balance where we can explore serious themes without leaving the audience feeling clinically depressed.

How was the film made?

I built everything in Unreal. I blocked, polished and edited in one project. I kitbashed and bought assets as needed. Body mocap was captured with Xsens. Face was recorded in engine. I drove the car with a gamepad and treated that pass like performance.
The project took roughly two years of my time with help from five very talented artists and a small sound design studio.

*a littlу note to you guy, if you select my film please don’t post it before Thursday 19:30, GMT+2 that’s when the YouTube video will go live so everybody can watch it.
