What is the film about?

‘RED’ is the horny tale of Rudolph as you’ve never seen him before.

Once a legend, hero, and leader of the PACK, he now lives alone in a trailer on the outskirts of the North Pole.

After watching a documentary charting his fall from grace, a fired up Red decides to make the ultimate comeback and reclaim his spot as the King of Deers. Cue a ‘Rocky’ style montage and heaps of deer gags as we witness the sheer power and determination of the world’s most famous reindeer.

In a film bursting with testosterone, carrot smoothies, and 80’s inspired hoof-wear, ‘RED’ is the result of over 2 years of blood, sweat and beers.

What influenced it?

Rocky, 8 mile, The Wrestler, 80s pop culture, American Sport Documentaries. The pitfalls of celebrity and the corruption of fame – when icons become distracted with the lavish lifestyle, until the money, inevitably, runs out.

A little background information...

We wanted to take a well-known Christmas favourite but make it dark. We love the classic anti-hero, stories about a fall from grace that have a big comeback. We all see Rudolph as a happy, bouncy reindeer, but we wanted to give his story an alternative edge – someone who is down and out, struggling for motivation and has turned to life’s vices for comfort. The film is also about passion and redemption, and we wanted to show a character that would stop at nothing to reach their goals. Fundamentally, our character is a good guy who just needs the right motivation to get their life back on track – a sentiment we hold as well!
