RTE Kids Idents
What is the film about?
Commissioned by RTÉ, Ireland’s national broadcaster, to create a series of animated idents for RTÉ Kids, Mario Domingos developed vibrant, dynamic visuals that captured the imagination of young viewers, embodying the playful, educational spirit of the channel.
A little background information...
I was asked by RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann), Ireland’s national public service broadcaster, to design and animate a series of idents for RTÉ Kids, their RTÉ’s dedicated children’s programming brand.
The goal was to create vibrant, fun, and engaging animations that would capture the imagination of young audiences while reflecting the playful spirit of RTÉ Kids. Each ident was designed to be visually dynamic, colorful, and in line with the brand’s commitment to entertaining and educating children across Ireland.
How was the film made?
The RTÉ Kids idents were crafted using a blend of Cinema 4D and Houdini, rendered with Redshift. Starting from initial sketches and storyboards, I explored playful visual concepts, combining vibrant colours, abstract shapes, and dynamic animations. Cinema 4D allowed me to develop the visual style and overall animation efficiently, while Houdini was essential for creating engaging effects and detailed simulations, adding extra layers of movement and excitement. The final visuals were polished in After Effects, ensuring each ident matched RTÉ Kids’ energetic and imaginative brand personality.
