What is the film about?

This was a furloughed film produced to reflect an artist/workers days and decline in lockdown (part 1)

A comical take on the times of COVID pandemic from the view point of his screen.

Created for free by myself and a couple of CG artists and student sound designers.

What influenced it?

I wouldn’t say this film has been inspired by any artistic influences, apart from the set design and colouring from Pixar’s CGI films. More so the stark changes to our lives over the last year and all that we’re now dealing with. With a nod to the mental problems that are appearing as people try to cope.

A little background information...

I was working during the first lockdown and wanted a release from the usual studio work, and also a means to use my time indoors constructively. So one small shot idea of capturing a state of mind in lockdown soon found itself spilling into over 3 minutes of CG animation as the notion of a worker’s decline took hold. Partially reflective of my own time and also designed so each shot or day could stand in isolation, and hopefully everyone could find their current or previous states of mind (and body!) in one or a few of the animations.

How was the film made?

I animated this in Maya, with the help of 2 texture/prop artists I knew, and over a month or so, developed the story from creating the individual shots. And 10 weeks later this was finally created!
