Polishing professional skills, learning the principles of business management in the animation industry, building awareness of your assets, and a mentorship of an experienced mentor. On top of that – some of the biggest names in the world of animation – Tim Allen, Melanie Coombs, Becky Perymann, Denis Walgenwitz, Tobias Fouracre, Francesca Maxwell and more. All of this is offered by the 8-month long StopMoLab – the world’s only course focused on preparation for work in the stop-motion industry, making it easier for young creators to function in the professional world.

Registration for the third edition of the course, organized by MOMAKIN, has been extended to the 22nd April 2024. All details can be found on stopmolab.com.

  • Where to secure funds for making an animated film?
  • How to prepare a professional portfolio?
  • And what does the film production process look like?

These are just a few examples of the issues to be explored by the participants of the intense course for stop motion animation creators. StopMoLab begins in May and lasts for eight months.

Through the course, participants learn about the realities of the industry and get support in the development of their career path. Worth recommending is the mentoring and personal development meetings, during which participants can individually talk with the professionals from the industry and dispel their doubts. This is quite unique from other courses that usually focus on a selected topic. We simply teach animation from A to Z. StopMoLab shortens this, often long and winding road to success by giving direct access to the knowledge and experience of those who are today deciding the direction of stop motion, and at the same time allows to build an international network of contacts and creates the first support group for stop motion developers scattered around the world.

Paulina Zacharek, founder of StopMoLab

Recruitment for the course is open until 22nd April 2024. The total cost of participation is €3,250 for the entire course if paid in one installment and can be paid in two installments of €1,875 each. More information about the project and the submission form can be found at the StopMoLab website: www.stopmolab.com. The program is exclusive, with only 36 spots available, 9 for each profession: animators, puppet-makers, producers and art directors. The first class will take place on May 20th.

A lot of people who think of animation production picture a lonely person constructing puppets and animating them. The truth is completely different. And this is what we teach during the StopMoLab classes. In the span of eight months, we provide young creators from all around the world with concise knowledge that’s going to let them function on their own in the animation industry. Animation industry changes very quickly. It demands from its specialists frequent improvement of their qualifications and perfecting of their skills. We want to provide the creators with not only professional expertise but, most of all, a future in the industry and assistance in highlighting their assets.
